Navigate’s Women’s Leadership Network (WLN) has an exciting year ahead! We’re hoping that you’ll join us at some of the events we’re hosting, sponsoring, and attending this year, as we pursue our mission to share unique learning opportunities, highlight individuals and businesses who are promoting and exemplifying a more diverse workforce, and provide a venue for shared ideas and experiences among the business community.

Creating & Cultivating An Inclusive Workplace

Our fall event was so popular, we’re bringing it back!

Hosted at The Pyramid Club in Philadelphia and featuring five local panelists and a moderator from companies around the region, our program, “Creating and Cultivating An Inclusive Workplace,” offered attendees best practices for fostering and sustaining a diverse and inclusive culture. We are excited to have the opportunity to revisit the discussion with new additions to the panel, as well as co-sponsors, Wawa and the Chester County Economic Development Council. Our lineup of panelists includes:

– Brigitte Daniel; Executive Vice President, Wilco Electronic Systems, Inc.
– Dana Beckton; Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Christiana Health Systems
– Liz Moore; Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition & Diversity, Wawa
– Pooja Bansal; AVP-Service Level Manager, Barclays
– Sulaiman Rahman; CEO, DiverseForce, LLC
– Victor Hurdle; Senior Event Manager, UpcomingEvents.com, LLC

Erik Gudmundson, CTO of Pegasus Technologies, will return as our facilitator, guiding the conversation on topics such as creating change by promoting empathy, openness, and a spirit of belonging; unleashing the power of a diverse team; everyday ways to be more inclusive; and diversity and inclusion challenges and how to be a part of the solution. All attendees will be entered in a raffle to win gift baskets donated by the sponsoring organizations.

The event is free to attend and will take place on March 27 from 4:30-6:30pm at Wawa’s Corporate Office. Please RSVP for as soon as possible; space is limited.

The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia Paradigm Award

The WLN is once again sponsoring The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia’s Paradigm Award ceremony, which will take place on March 21.

The Paradigm Award is presented annually to a singular woman in business whose outstanding professional and personal achievements serve as a model for success. This year’s award recipient is Jami Wintz McKeon, Chair at Morgan Lewis. She provides strategic direction to the largest law firm in the world led by a woman, and under her leadership, Morgan Lewis has grown into one of the principal global providers of legal services, assisting clients throughout the United States, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

We are looking forward to attending the luncheon event and honoring Jami’s accomplishments.

Philly Tech Week: Women in Tech Soiree

We will also be sponsoring and attending the Women in Tech Soiree, one of the most anticipated events during Philly Tech Week. This event brings together some of the most talented, savvy, and passionate women in the city for an evening of knowledge sharing and to highlight the supportive spaces and places dedicated to the progression of technology, innovation, and education within women and diverse groups in Philadelphia.

This year’s special fifth-anniversary edition will take place on May 7 at the Comcast Technology Center and will feature guest speaker Candice Matthews Brackeen, CEO of the HillMan Accelerator and recent acquirer of the iconic NEWME, founded by Angela Benton, along with a women in tech panel. The inspiration from the speakers and the overall program is designed to promote connection, collaboration, and success.

Follow the Philly Tech Week website for details on how you can join us in attending this staple event.

Our popular Swing & Sip series will also return this summer, providing female professionals with opportunities to play a round of golf or participate in lessons at various private clubs throughout the region. We will release the schedule and registration information soon, so stay tuned!
