12 Apr Navigate: A Different Type of Consulting Firm
Navigate is a management consulting firm focused on helping clients solve their business problems. One of the best ways to solve problems – or avoid them altogether – is by learning from the successes and failures of those around you. That’s why we’re such a fan of Philadelphia Business Journal’s (PBJ) “Social Capital” column, a weekly Q&A with a local business leader featuring career-related wisdom and advice that be leveraged by almost any professional.
In the March 31st column, the PBJ spoke with our own Rob Kathol, CEO and Founder of Navigate. While you’ll learn some interesting personal information about Rob (he’s a master at the Big Green Egg and is a big Cat Stevens fan), you’ll hopefully also benefit from learning more about Navigate’s company philosophy and Rob’s insight as a leader.
As Rob explains in the article, the smartest decision the Navigate partners have made is investing in the company ahead of the curve, which has led to an exceptional working environment and an extremely talented team of people.
He’s also learned the importance of patience. While you can, and should, have urgency to understand a situation, you don’t need to react immediately. Patience is a must-have trait to foster thoughtful decision-making.
The column also touches on:
– The nine core values that every member of the Navigate team believes in and lives out on a daily basis
– What makes Navigate different from other consulting companies (it’s important that our employees can make it home for dinner each night)
– Rob’s advice for maintaining a competitive edge as a company (and as a manager)
– Rob’s goal for the future of Navigate
Read Rob’s “Social Capital” column here (you’ll need a PBJ subscription to access it). We hope you find value in the lessons he’s learned that you can bring to your own workplace. If you have any questions, please contact Navigate at 484.383.0606 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
