Technology Assessment

The nation’s largest not-for-profit medical board had established an aggressive five-year strategy to drive standardized board certification across the entire medical community.  To better ensure achievement of its goal, the board enlisted naviGATE to evaluate the people, processes, and technology of its IT organization, and recommend any changes needed to support anticipated growth.

Following an assessment of the board’s technology platform and interviews with key IT and business representatives, naviGATE identified opportunities for cost savings and better technology use as well as areas of risk. The team also identified ways to improve core business processes and applications, and strengthen the effectiveness of the IT organization. As a result, missing skill sets were added, and naviGATE oversaw improvements to several critical functions supporting board users and systems. Finally, naviGATE assisted in the necessary redevelopment of the company’s IT Disaster Recovery Plan, which included operational changes and regular testing to improve the efficiency of the current system and its overall feasibility.
