Enterprise Systems Enablement
A large state transportation authority had recently acquired a smaller division and consolidated its operations, and thus sought to select and implement a new, enterprise-wide ERP system to provide HR/payroll, financial, labor management, and other functionality. naviGATE resources assumed project management and got to work identifying key operational requirements and the capabilities of the current systems in order to make the best recommendation for the authority’s current and future needs. This step involved interviews with key internal users and stakeholders to ensure understanding of process flows, roles, and customizations.
From there, the team was able to define the critical specifications for the newly consolidated authority and pinpoint functionality gaps. naviGATE resources served as a valuable third party, able to review goals and needs with leadership in a neutral manner, and eventually make a strong recommendation without having a vested interest in any particular software. The team continued to direct the initiative through implementation, ensuring quality and adherence to stated design specifications, and handling necessary change management communications and training to pave the way for program acceptance.
One major advantage of objective oversight in this engagement was that naviGATE resources noted the need to redesign the unique and complex processes associated with bidding out substantial capital construction projects. This resulted in the development of an electronic contract management tool to aid with project proposals and contracts, interface directly with the selected ERP system, and save the organization significant time and money.
