Organizational Assessment
The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), the largest not-for-profit medical board in the United States, has set aggressive business goals over the next 5 years and anticipates significant growth across the organization. ABIM engaged naviGATE to evaluate its system operations and technology infrastructure to assure its underlying technical infrastructure and supporting people and processes were positioned to grow with the business.
Spend Management
A global pharmaceutical company had shifted to a worldwide category management structure and wanted to implement Ariba Analysis in order to maximize use of the Ariba solutions currently in place, and gain global visibility across all spend categories. naviGATE resources were brought on to not only lead this initiative in the U.S., but also help in further streamlining spend-related processes by providing a Procure-to-Pay (PTP) Optimization Assessment.
Program, Portfolio & Project Management
A large oil and gas company was struggling to successfully implement key IT initiatives – with challenges ranging from delays and poor resource management, to a lack of sponsorship and insufficient status reporting. naviGATE was tasked with creating and leading a comprehensive Program Management Office to address these issues and get the projects back on track.
Change Management
A leading, publicly-traded producer of natural gas chose naviGATE to provide project management leadership for the development of a user-friendly intranet site to serve as the central resource for all employee information, procedures, and policies. naviGATE led the needs assessment, design, and implementation for the new site, guiding the company with effective change management and communications approaches essential to successful tool adoption.
Enterprise Systems Enablement
A large state transportation authority had recently acquired a smaller division and consolidated its operations, and thus sought to select and implement a new, enterprise-wide ERP system to provide HR/payroll, financial, labor management, and other functionality. naviGATE resources assumed project management and got to work identifying key operational requirements and the capabilities of the current systems in order to make the best recommendation for the authority’s current and future needs. This step involved interviews with key internal users and stakeholders to ensure understanding of process flows, roles, and customizations.

While a leading regional commercial real estate firm significantly increased its service offerings and size in recent years, the role of IT and its support of these business changes did not keep pace. The company called on naviGATE to perform a technology assessment and develop an accompanying strategy to ensure its IT functions were poised to fulfill all business-critical roles through organizational alignment, process effectiveness, and technology usage and management.
Technology Assessment
The nation’s largest not-for-profit medical board had established an aggressive five-year strategy to drive standardized board certification across the entire medical community. To better ensure achievement of its goal, the board enlisted naviGATE to evaluate the people, processes, and technology of its IT organization, and recommend any changes needed to support anticipated growth.
Business Process Management
A global bank, struggling with a backlog of legacy trades within its loan closing operations, hired a new team to settle these trades in order to improve client satisfaction and turn the employee focus back to current bank activity. naviGATE resources, brought on to direct the new team toward its defined goal, kicked off the initiative by creating an on-boarding and training package as well as process flows to enable the employees to get to work quickly and efficiently.
Talent Management
A national professional services company’s existing talent management program needed to be strengthened to support a new business strategy demanding a highly collaborative workforce and strong accountability. naviGATE worked with the company to develop and implement a simple yet action-oriented program that evaluates both objective and subjective criteria and provides employees with a clear understanding of how development, performance, and compensation link together. Employees now map out their individual goals and development in line with the company strategy; receive regular, constructive performance feedback; and meet with managers on a monthly basis to discuss development and growth opportunities.
Leadership Development
A health care company needed to develop an executive succession plan that would ensure leadership continuity. naviGATE designed and implemented an enterprise-wide program that involved senior management in a competency review of the talent in leadership and mission-critical roles. Business unit leaders collectively built and instituted the succession planning process, with guidance from HR.
