Technology Leadership & Governance

When one of the one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies purchased a natural gas firm, the complexities and time anticipated to reorganize the various IT systems, applications, data, and processes seemed overwhelming. naviGATE was engaged to provide strategic IT oversight services throughout the transition and to ultimately act as an intermediary between each company’s IT team. naviGATE was tasked with guiding all transition work streams; identifying and solving cross-organization issues; developing cohesive IT strategic roadmaps; and ensuring effective resource allocation across both companies.

The naviGATE team started by hosting an executive, cross-company IT forum to assess and resolve major IT systems gaps, data ownership issues, resource demands, and other transition-related concerns. A technical integration leader was selected to partner with both companies to review and document the “as is” and “to be” IT strategies in order to pinpoint potential issues and keep project activities in line with transition requirements. Knowing the importance of clear and consistent communications in times of change, naviGATE led communications efforts across both companies to ensure all key stakeholders understood the transition goals, the impact to their business units, and the implementation timeframe. Participation in an ongoing Program Management Office process improved project alignment, expedited decision-making, and managed conflict resolution.
